Marrying Mum & Dad - Series 6 & 7

MARRYING MUM & DAD SERIES 6 & 7

I’m thrilled to say Marrying Mum & Dad is returning in 2018 as more wonderful, willing participants continue to sign up to take part in the show. Series 6 was possibly the craziest yet and I cannot thank all the brave parents enough for allowing their kids to plan their weddings, it makes for some seriously nail-biting but heart-warming telly.

NAOMI'S NIGHTMARES OF NATURE - SERIES 4

There is a never-ending supply of bizarre and seemingly scary animals for us to film for Nightmares of Nature. And so the team have been busy sending me to far flung places for more epic adventures and dreaming up more extreme challenges for me to undertake. Series 4 will be hitting your screens later in 2016.

The Dog Ate my Homework

THE DOG ATE MY HOMEWORK

There is never a dull moment when you are a panellist on TDAMH. You never know quite what Iain is going to ask of you until you are recording in front of the live studio audience. In two episodes I was teamed up with Dodge T Dog and then Dan Wright and was playing against Romesh Ranganathan, You Tubers Lucy & Lydia, and Bobby Lockwood.

CBBC Live & Digital in Hull

I had a great time hosting the Family Concert: Cartoon Classics with the 80 musicians of the City of Birmingham Symphony Orchestra in their Symphony Hall. One hour full of looney tunes, silly symphonies and merry melodies for the whole family.

Wild and Weird

WILD AND WEIRD

Tim and I have a bit of fun as we review clips of nature's weirdest creatures and events on our treehouse Television. Playing opposite Tim whilst attempting to deliver the funny scripts with a straight face was virtually impossible. Hopefully it will be as much fun to watch as it was to make.

Wild!

WILD!

Following our totally WILD! Summer in 2013, Tim Warwood, Radzi Chinyanganya and I are doing it all over again for Autumn 2014. We'll be travelling up and down the country presenting this energetic Saturday morning show featuring animals, extreme sports & incredibly awesome kids.

Marrying Mum and Dad series 3

MARRYING MUM AND DAD SERIES 3

Yes, believe it or not, more parents were willing to have their wedding organised by their kids. It's a huge responsibility for our young wedding planners to sort out the theme; outfits; venue; transport; entertainment and cake, but they do it with impressive commitment and come up with the most ingenious and cheeky ideas. In series 3 we managed to pull off our first wedding abroad which was no mean feat. Hats off to all the brave brides and grooms who have taken part.

Dog ate my homework

THE DOG ATE MY HOMEWORK

Again I was teamed up with Sam Nixon and our captain Nina for the new series of TDAMH hosted by the brilliant Iain Stirling. We were up against Dodge, Mark Rhodes and their captain Luke in a variety of crazy, silly challenges in front of a live, studio audience.

Sport Relief does Glee Club

SPORT RELIEF DOES GLEE CLUB

I joined Sam and Mark in another search to find Britain's best young singing group. It was a real joy to see lots of the singers from the previous year returning to give it their all. I very much enjoyed my backstage role, making sure the clubs had a supporter to celebrate with or a shoulder to cry on should they need it.

Naomi's Nightmares of Nature

NAOMI'S NIGHTMARES OF NATURE

My summer of 2012 has been epic. I had the privilege of filming a new series for CBBC called 'Naomi's Nightmares of Nature'. As the title implies, I have now encountered many unusual, fascinating, sometimes gross and often pretty darn frightening animals. I travelled to America, South Africa and Australia to make 10 episodes and as a result I have had some of the most incredible experiences of my life. I did my first ever skydive; tagged condors; held venomous snakes and enormous spiders; came nose to nose underwater with a 4.8m saltwater crocodile, the crazy list goes on. Having had a phobia of sharks all of my life, I'd say my biggest challenge was snorkelling with about 30 black tips… I don't mind admitting I gave myself a massive pat on the back after that experience! Catch it on Wednesdays at 5.15pm on the CBBC channel.

Bringing books to life

BRINGING BOOKS TO LIFE

It was a real pleasure to be involved with the 'Bringing Books to Life' project for BBC Two. I was invited to talk about one of my favourite children's books, so I chose 'The Magic Faraway Tree' by Enid Blyton. Throughout this show the real and animated worlds collide as I read extracts and talk about how I discovered this story and what it means to me. I was over the moon with the end result and I hope this series will inspire lots of 7-10 year olds to read this and many of the other brilliant books that are featured.

Me and Steve feeding the Ringtail Lemurs

DEADLY MISSION MADAGASCAR

I had a great time interviewing loads of hopefuls for 'Deadly Mission Madagascar'. Regional auditions were held to try and find the perfect candidates to take part in this show which would see 8 kids flying out on a conservation mission for a month to Madagascar. I can't wait to see how they got on.

All over the place with Ed Petrie

ALL OVER THE PLACE WITH ED PETRIE

This shot was taken during the filming of a sandcastle building competition for 'All Over The Place' series 2. I laughed a lot whilst joining Ed Petrie on his travels around the UK to discover strange and amazing places to visit.

Watch All Over The Place every Wednesday at 5.45pm & on Sundays at 4.25pm on the CBBC Channel.

Me and my tap shoes

HEDGEHOGS, PANDAS AND SHARKS

I have been thoroughly enjoying making some wildlife films for Blue Peter. I really feel like I'm slowly conquering my shark fear after successfully helping to transfer 3 black tipped reef sharks in to the main shark tank at London Aquarium. And my trip up to Edinburgh Zoo to meet their gorgeous new additions, Tian Tian and Yan Guang the Giant Pandas, was really special. I felt hugely privileged to feed this beautiful creature a panda cake.

Me and my tap shoes

A DEPRESSINGLY LONG TIME AGO

I took part in a CBBC series called '12 Again', in which a whole variety of people are asked to look back in to their past and try to remember what life was like aged 12. It was quite embarrassing recalling what sort of clothes I was wearing, the music I was listening to and generally how uncool I was!

Thumbs up wing walking

THUMBS UP TO WING WALKING

On Live 'n' Deadly I have been set some dare-devil challenges. To sample a day in the life of the Hobby I was sent wing-walking which meant I experienced some 'extreme' aerial acrobatics. It was one of the most terrifying but utterly thrilling experiences of my life!

CBBC summer sports stars

CBBC SUMMER SPORTS STARS

Luckily I was on Helen Skelton's winning team for Blue Peter's CBBC Summer Sports Stars competition - I say lucky, it was of course all down to our natural athletic skill and ability!! This shot was taken during the Wakeboarding event which was seriously good fun. I'd love to give that sport another go in the future.

Countryfile - Matt Baker & Naomi Wilkinson

COUNTRYFILE

I have travelled around the UK presenting a wide variety of films for the fantastic BBC Countryfile including a punt in Cambridge on a nocturnal bat safari, attending the World Conker Championships, attempting to beat Matt Baker at a game of tennis, swimming in the English channel and even paddle boarding with Cookie the Springer Spaniel.

All Over the Place: Asia Part II

ALL OVER THE PLACE: ASIA PART II

For series 7 of AOTP I was invited to join Ed to go exploring around Bali. There were many highlights on this trip, but the best was surely getting the chance to swim with Manta Rays. The show is so bonkers that, for one song, I found myself dressed up as Ed Sheeran, wrestling in the mud with Ed and having a duck placed on my head…. definitely one of my life’s more surreal moments!

Children's BAFTA Awards 2017

CHILDREN’S BAFTA AWARDS 2017

Eight-year-old Braydon Bent has been announced as the winner of the BAFTA Kids’ Young Presenter competition 2017 and I was lucky enough to present the award for Short Form with him at the exciting award ceremony.

Sam & Mark's Big Friday Wind Up

SAM & MARK’S BIG FRIDAY WIND UP

Sam & Mark like to keep you on your toes when you agree to take part in their show. This time Ed and I were challenged to go head to head against the boys in their ‘Face Off’ challenge. None of us have any idea what we will be asked to do until we are set the task and so the day is inevitably a little bit stressful but majorly funny.

BBC LEARNING: SUPER MOVERS CAMPAIGN

BBC LEARNING: SUPER MOVERS CAMPAIGN

If there is a project that is more up my street I am yet to find it! This superb new campaign is hoping to get kids active by releasing a huge selection of songs and routines all based around the National Curriculum. I wish these videos had been available for me when I was a pupil… they would have been my dream revision tool!

NAOMI’S WILD & SCARY SHOW

The Easter holidays 2017 saw me travelling up and down the country with my Wild & Scary Show. ‘Animal Mark’ (Mark Amey) and I introduced the children to some of his most frightening animals as I retold some of my favourite and most exciting tales from my travels, with plenty of silly songs and daft costumes thrown in for good measure!

BAFTA KID’S EVENTS

BAFTA KID’S EVENTS

I have taken part in various Bafta Kids events around the country, in partnership with Place2Be. It’s been a treat to host presenting masterclasses with my colleagues from children’s television, celebrate the mighty work of BAFTA & to attend a very special event at Paddington Station for the young beneficiaries of Their Royal Highnesses' Charities Forum.

BBC Ten Pieces Film - Live Lesson and Concerts

BBC TEN PIECES FILM - LIVE LESSON AND CONCERTS

I’m delighted to be involved with BBC Ten Pieces II, an exciting initiative for schools that aims to open up the world of classical music to young people and inspire them to develop their own creative responses to ten pieces of music. Blur’s Alex James and I presented a live lesson streamed to schools via the internet…www.bbc.in/1HWBL9O and I will be hosting a series of Ten Pieces concerts across the UK in 2016.

Marrying Mum & Dad - Series 4 and 5

MARRYING MUM AND DAD, SERIES 4 & 5

Continued respect to the brave parents who offer to take part in MM&D. From Doctor Who to Winter Wonderland to Alice in Wonderland, there is no stopping the kids once they have chosen their mad-cap wedding theme to wreak havoc… I mean, spread happiness throughout their parents' big day. I’m excited to report that we have started making series 5.

Blue Peter Halloween Special

BLUE PETER HALLOWEEN SPECIAL

For once it wasn’t me trembling when I visited the Blue Peter studio as this time it was my job to set Barney and Radzi the task of facing up to their animal fears for the Halloween Special.

All Over the Place Europe - Part 2

ALL OVER THE PLACE EUROPE - PART 2

All Over The Place is the gift that keeps on giving. This time I headed to Poland, Germany, Finland and Norway to join Ed for yet more wacky events, songs and randomness… like entering the mud Olympics or being carried upside down on a Finnish man’s back for a wife carrying race! Totally bonkers and I love it.

Nightmares of Nature, Series 3

NAOMI'S NIGHTMARES OF NATURE, SERIES 3

Swimming with a whale shark in Mexico; being covered in a swarm of bees on top of a New York skyscraper; having a one-month old orang-utan cling to my leg in Borneo; introducing an elephant to a group of blind children in Thailand and sleeping in a Quinz in Finland, just a few of the many highlights that will stay with me forever from the filming of Nightmares series 3.

NNN Series 2

NAOMI'S NIGHTMARES OF NATURE, SERIES 2

Once again my nerves were tested to their absolute limits as I faced up to another series of nature's nightmares. The animals and challenges came in all shapes and sizes from the very large - feeding a hippo in Africa - to the microscopic - discovering eyelash mites that live on your face! - to the downright scary - a night time spider walk in the jungles of Costa Rica.

All over the place: Europe

ALL OVER THE PLACE: EUROPE

As if Ed Petrie needed to spend any more time with me, I joined him for another AOTP stint, this time he is making his way around Europe with his CBBC buddies. I joined him for the Croatia and Italy leg of his journey and this time the antics included fighting as gladiators, singing a song about storks (dressed as storks of course) and trying our hand as gondoliers.... safe to say we were pretty rubbish at it!

All over the place: Australia

ALL OVER THE PLACE: AUSTRALIA

It's not every day you can say that you sang on the stage of Sydney Opera House, dressed up as Beyonce to sing about a Big Banana or entered a race in a toilet cubicle in the middle of the Outback, but these were just a couple of the many madcap items we filmed for AOTP Oz. I thoroughly enjoyed my 5 weeks with the team travelling across the country stopping at Cairns, Adelaide and numerous places between.

Ultimate Brain

ULTIMATE BRAIN

For this new science-based series, I was teamed up with Sam and Mark on the CBBC team to compete against some seriously smart kids. The show is hosted by a mad scientist/monkey called Dr Brain and thankfully I don't think we embarrassed ourselves too much.

CBBC Live in Newcastle

CBBC LIVE IN NEWCASTLE

Following the success of CBBC Live in Leeds, we all headed to Gateshead for CBBC Live in Newcastle. As well as joining in with Sam & Mark's live Geordie Challenge show, it was a really lovely opportunity to meet lots of CBBC viewers.

Comic Relief Does Glee Club

COMIC RELIEF DOES GLEE CLUB

I am teaming up with Sam and Mark for series 3 of 'Comic Relief Does Glee Club'. I'll be getting all of the backstage gossip from those entering this high-quality talent competition, which will culminate in the live finals in March 2013. With so many talented kids in the UK, we are going to be in for a very exciting series and all for a great cause too.

All Over the Place USA

ALL OVER THE PLACE USA

I had a blast joining Ed to film a part of 'All Over The Place USA'. We visited Florida, Wisconsin and Minnesota and found ourselves taking part in yet more strange events, like mash potato wrestling dressed as a spud; visiting weird and wacky places, like the Upside Down White House in Wisconsin; and dressing up to sing pastiches of well known songs. This series will air on CBBC in early 2013.

Me with Stefan Gates on Incredible Edibles

INCREDIBLE EDIBLES

Stefan Gates and the team invited me along to be a guest in the new series of 'Incredible Edibles'. I happily accepted the offer before properly considering what that would entail… I was presented with 3 platters of food to taste without being told what I was eating until I was chewing it. Safe to say, I ate a few things I hope never to eat again!

Me with CBBC's in-house mutt, Hacker T Dog

HACKER TIME

CBBC's in-house mutt, Hacker T Dog, kidnapped me and brought me to his studio for an episode of 'Hacker Time'. I was exceptionally pleased to discover that Hacker had devised a brand new gameshow, especially for me to play, called 'Have I Got Poos For You'! I am busy plotting my revenge.

Marrying Mum and Dad

WEDDINGS… BUT NOT AS WE KNOW THEM!

In the series 'Marrying Mum and Dad', Ed Petrie and I helped some very 'creative' kids organise their parents' weddings! They were in charge of choosing the theme, the venue, the entertainment, the food, the transport and, perhaps most, alarmingly the outfits. It made for an exciting, hilarious and emotional journey and it looks like we're set to do it all over again with a second series now in production.

Team Jaomi

TEAM JAOMI!

As anticipated, I had a crazy time up in Edinburgh when I joined John, Edward and Chris Rankin for Jedward's Big Adventure. I was teamed up with John (naturally forming Team 'Jaomi'!) to act as tour guides for a group of bemused Brownies. We endeavoured to enlighten them on the history of Edinburgh Castle, the origins of tartan and the morbid act of grave-digging. Safe to say, we weren't very good!

Steve washes elephant and me

STEVE WASHES ELEPHANT AND ME

During the filming of Live 'n' Deadly I was very fortunate to have some incredible animal encounters. Washing the elephants at Whipsnade Zoo was particularly special and was made all the more memorable after Steve directed a jet of water at my head...
cheers Steve! :)

Me and my tap shoes

ME AND MY TAP SHOES

I am probably at my happiest when I am tapping to a good tune. I occasionally teach classes at Pineapple Dance Studios in London & attend tap masterclasses whenever I can. Tapping has been a life long passion and I fully intend to continue tap dancing for the rest of my days.

Cliff edge sleepover

CLIFF EDGE SLEEP OVER

Here I am, once again mimicking animal behaviour, this time I spent the whole night on a cliff edge just like a gannet. Not something I ever imagined myself doing. Surprisingly, it was a spectacularly wonderful experience that I would repeat in a heartbeat.
